Here at Cook Tillman, we understand just how daunting the world of estate planning can feel to those first navigating it. We also know that our financial advisors need a fully capable firm they can entrust their clients to, one that won’t have them worrying about communication or timeliness.
For us, our goal is to serve both our clients and the financial advisors who refer them. That’s why we’ve honed our process so that both parties can enjoy a seamless, stress-free experience that takes the weight of legal work off their shoulders.
Let’s talk about how our process works–and how it benefits both our clients and advisors.
Keep Calm and Carry On: Our Workflow
One roadblock that can keep clients from seeking help with estate planning is that they don’t know what the process entails. They don’t know when it would start, what’s required of them, and when it would end.
At Cook Tillman, we are passionate about making our process crystal clear from our initial contact with a client. We’ve found that having a solid system and educating our clients and advisors about it inspires confidence, so people can receive the legal assistance they need.
In that vein of thinking, here is a quick flyover of how our process works:
A client is referred to Cook Tillman by a financial advisor.
The client comes in for a consultation with us to figure out what they need.
We explain a few solutions in ways that are easy to understand so the client doesn’t get overwhelmed.
We undergo a quick turnaround of two weeks for document drafts so the client’s memories of our consultation are still intact.
The client comes in for their signing appointment shortly after so that we can answer any questions, review their documents fully with them, and have them sign once they’re comfortable.
From there, the completed documents are sent back to the client’s financial advisor, who takes the reins from there.
By getting things done quickly and communicating well at every stage, we ensure that working with us feels straightforward, not cumbersome.
Confused People Can’t Make Decisions: How We Bring Clarity to Our Clients
Our end goal is to help our clients reach a decision that’s in the best interest of their family. But to get there, we need to prioritize clarity, making sure they understand all their options so they can make an informed and confident decision.
With this in mind, our team takes measures to present solutions in an approachable way our clients can understand. Whether we are drawing pictures or making analogies that simplify the complexities of estate planning, we ensure each client understands the structure of their plan and how it will benefit their family so nobody’s left in the dark.
Execution Should Be Excellent: How We Bring Peace of Mind to Our Advisors
When it comes to our financial advisors, we intend our process to be a natural extension of their own service models. They already have their own systems in place for serving their clients, and our goal is to complement theirs with a seamless client hand-off.
From our initial client consultation to the completion of our services, our advisors can rest assured knowing we’re handling all the details. We keep them in the loop about our progress so they don’t need to follow up, enabling them to focus on their other client work until we send them copies of our signed documents.
Our commitment to consistent communication, continuing legal education, and our finely tuned process brings peace of mind to our advisors that their clients are in good hands.
